During our AGM at the Good Shepherd Centre on the 27th April 2008, eight members (six new, two old) were elected to CATHCA's Board.

Gerard Lagleder OSB (KZN), Mrs. Margaret Setlaba (FS), Mr. Oupa Moeng (FS), Sr. Margarette Sibisi (KZN), Sr. Cathy Thomas (EC), Dr. Douglas Ross Chairperson (KZN), Mrs. S'thandwa Msomi (KZN), and Mrs. Nozizwe Dhlamini (GP) This is a brief CV of each of the members in this photograph: Fr. Gerard Lagleder: Born in 1955 at Regensburg in Germany, Fr. Gerard was ordained priest in 1982 and came to South Africa as a missionary in 1987. In 1991 he became parish priest of Mandini on the KwaZulu-Natal North coast. In 192 he founded the Brotherhood of Blessed Gerard and established the Centre at Mandini which now caters for adults and children with AIDS-related illnesses. Ms. Margaret Ntombizanele Setlaba: Born in 1953, Margaret is a professional nurse with twenty eight years' experience. She holds an advanced degree in nursing as well as diplomas in HIV/AIDS Care and Counselling and Project Management. She is presently the Executive manager of the Lesedi Centre of Hope in Bloemfontein. Mr. Oupa Moeng: Born in 1979 in Welkom, he completed school in 1999. In 2003 he joined St. Paul's seminary, and then went to St. Peter's seminary where he completed Philosophy in 2006. In that year he joined the Diocese of Kroonstad and is currently the HIV/AIDS coordinator of the Diocese. Sr. Margarette Sibisi: Sr. Margarette completed her nursing training in 1980, and began work at Nkandla hospital and Benedictine hospital Nongoma before going to eBuhleni clinic near Mthunzini. She is presently the manager of Twasana Clinic near Mahlabathini, and also manages a gardening project there. Sr. Cathy Thomas: Born in Johannesburg, Sr. Cathy worked for many years in the St. Francis hospitalin Aliwal North. Now stationed at Middelburg in the Eastern Cape, Sr. Cathy has been responsible for establishing HIV and AIDS projects in nearly 40 towns in the Karroo area. Dr. Douglas Ross: Born in Durban, Dr. Ross did his medical studies at Wits University. He is now CEO of St. Mary's hospital in Mariannhill KZN, and Chairperson of CATHCA, as well as being a member of AISAC, the International Catholic Health Care agency based in the Vatican. He has an MBA degree as well as his medical degree. Mrs. S'thandwa Msomi : Born in 1943 at Umlazi township outide Durban, she finished school at St. Francis College in Mariannhill. Her career moves include radio work, trauma counselling for the TRC, home based care, HIV/AIDS care, and financial and committee management. She presently runs the Asiphile eUganda Home Based Care project in Umlazi. Mrs. Nozizwe Dhlamini: Born in 1950 in Johannesburg, Nozizwe has worked in the Township AIDS Project, and has studied project and financial management. In 2001 opened the Lufuno Home based Care project in Protea North, Soweto.
